
National Senior onto VIPS quarterfinals and U-22 Bronze beats the leader
We are back on #LaCronica with all the coverage of our Torrejón Basketball Academy teams after the action on April 26th and 27th, as well as a look ahead to what will be coming after the Labor Day rest weekend.

The First-Year Girls Benjamín team has pushed again to continue making history, and last weekend they played C.D.I. Rozasbasket at their arena. We came close (24-21) but did not get the win this time. We are still very, very happy with our little ones performance. It is time to play at Javi Limones at 2:15 PM against Corazonistas Rojo on May 10th. See you at home.
The Second-Year Girls Benjamín team is having fun winning, and they did it again: (30-36) against Brains Moraleja at Javi Limones, in the game for 50th to 53rd places, last Saturday. We resume on-court play on May 10 at 11:30 a.m. against C.B. Tres Cantos, as visitors.
First-Year Boys Alevín team fell short this time at Javi Limones Stadium against Alameda de Osuna 2014 (80-87). We tied their record at 1-1 in this reclassification phase for the 43rd-48th places in the league. We will play again on May 10th at Los Almendros at 3:15 a.m., against Uros de Rivas B.
The First-Year Girls Alevín team could not overturn this result against Menesiano on April 26th (59-50) at their Madrid arena and suffered another defeat. We have a 0-1 record in this reclassification phase for the 17th-32nd places in the FBM league. We will face Brains Arturo Soria on May 10th at 10:45 a.m. at Javi Limones Stadium.
The Blanco Boys Alevín Second-Year Team opened this phase of play on April 26 against Juventud Alcalá at the Javi Limones Stadium (45-70) with little luck on offense. Their record was 0-1 in the reclassification for the 70th-72nd places in this competition. We will visit Salesianos Soto Piratas on May 10 at 1:00 PM.
The Torrejón Boys Alevín Second-Year Team opened the Round of 32 playoffs with a bang on April 26 at the Ángel Durango Stadium against Lions Basket Arroyomolinos A (86-38). Maxi Maxt was in full swing, also dunking several times for the spectators to watch in awe. We hope to close out this series and continue advancing when we play Pintobasket in the FBM Round of 16 on May 10 at 12:30 PM at the Javi Limones Stadium.
The Second Year Girls Alevín will finish their season in the Round of 32 playoffs on April 26th and 27th against Uros de Rivas A, a formidable opponent. We suffered only our second (12-62) and third (80-30) defeats of the season, in a learning curve for our Nerea Sánchez-led girls. A great year, and we will grow even more! We will play for the reclassification spots this coming May 10th at 9:15 a.m. against Baloncesto Torrelodones at the I.E.S Diego Velázquez.
The Infantil Preferente Girls First Year team continues to win even in difficult matches. Their performance on April 26th away to Colegio Miramadrid Paracuellos (41-43) was a heart-stopper, but it was achieved, securing the 55th-60th place in the league. Congratulations to Dani Ríos and Osvaldo Deocares, what a coaching duo! We are playing this May 10th at 2:15 PM at Javi Limones to face C.B. Getafe B.
Infantil Preferente Girls team, this time went in with any magic to close it out (34-36) against Movistar Estudiantes C. A direct rival for the league podium, so it hurts. Spinola Chamartín comes to Javi Limones this May 10th at 9:00 AM in the league Round of 16.
The Infantil First Year team was eliminated in the Round of 32 by Patrocinio San José Negro in the playoffs with two losses (87-49), the last one at their Cuatro Torres stadium. A great season for our Javier Piñar-led boys! We are playing away to Juan de Austria this May 10th in a reclassification match from 17th to 32nd place, at 9:30 AM.
The Infantil Preferente Azul team has done it! Their second win of the year (58-36) came against BT Aquinas last weekend. We are playing at this opponent rival stadium this May 10th at 7:00 PM, in the return game between the 9th and 10th places in the fourth division.
Infantil B won well (52-42) against Colegio Joyfe this April 26th at Nuria Fernández Stadium. We are keeping our momentum going, now with a 21-1 record, the new league leaders. This win is especially significant, because Joyfe is second in the standings. We will play CB Getafe A this May 10th at 5:15 PM at the Felipe Reyes Stadium, already in the Round of 16 of the league.
The Infantil A team continues to do its homework and won again (56-45) on April 27th against Juan de Austria at the Javi Limones Stadium. We have now improved to a 3-0 record in this reclassification phase for the 38th-47th place in the FBM. We will return this May 11th against Distrito Olímpico B at the Nuria Fernández Stadium at 7:30 PM.
The division is also coming off an outstanding performance in the MHL Tournament in Zaragoza during the Holy Week, winning multiple games.
Cadet Preferente Femenino with a heartbreaking 55-56 win over Colmenar Viejo A on April 26 at the Juan Antonio Samaranch Stadium. It was bittersweet because the Agustín Sánchez-led team could have taken it home. The Round of 16 is coming up soon, and Pureza de María is next, on May 10th, with a time and venue yet to be announced.
Cadete Blanco 2010 with a 60-47 loss to Mirasur School Azul at their home arena on April 26. We will play Club Europeo Baloncesto B on May 10 at the Javi Limones Stadium. This will be at 2:15 PM.
Cadete Primero Año fought again with extra energy and this time they gave their all (85-52) against Colegio Joyfe on April 26 at the Javi Limones Stadium. The first win in this reclassification phase for the 33rd-36th place was this May 10th at 5:00 PM against Colegio Nile.
The Cadete Preferente team could not find the upper hand (65-86) against Movistar Estudiantes A at the Javi Limones Stadium. We are at the bottom of the table with a 3-19 record, and we hope to find some positive results this May 10th at 9:00 AM at the Nuria Fernández Stadium to save our relegation against C.B Alcorcón A.
The Cadete B team played another great game but could not close it out (62-67) against Pablo Laso Academy B, for the 37th-48th place in the league. We will be back in action this May 11th at 4:00 PM at the Nuria Fernández Stadium against San Viator A.
Cadete A has been working on reclassifying for the FBM positions from 13th to 15th, and this April 27th against Valcude Alcobendas (71-94), we accomplished that goal. We are off to a good start in this phase. We will have a day off on the weekend of May 10th-11th.
Júnior Preferente Azul had a chance, but it slipped away in the final game on April 26th against Movistar Estudiantes E (54-56) at home. A game that could have been a tremendous statement of intent against the second-place team. We will be back on the court this May 10th at a time yet to be determined, away against Villanueva de la Cañada Verde.
Júnior Preferente Blanco has rallied, and they did so in a big way on April 27th against Olímpico 64 (56-50) at the Javi Limones Stadium. This is now three wins in a row in this reclassification phase for the 21st-24th places in the FBM, in this second division. We play this May 25th against Liceo Francés in Aturo Soria, at a time yet to be announced.
Júnior B played another tremendous game at the San Viator pavilion (52-64) on April 27th, at the Pepe Domaica stadium, achieving another important victory. We improved to 2-0 in this reclassification phase for the 37th-48th places in the FBM competition. We play Majadahonda Naranja this May 11th at 4:00 PM at the Javi Limones stadium.
Júnior A did their homework, aiming for the 13th-15th places in the league, against Uros de Rivas A (61-70) at Los Almendros, and this away win was a welcome development. The division will return to the fray on May 11th at the Javi Limones stadium at 5:45 PM, against C.B. Getafe A.
The division also comes off an outstanding performance in the MHL Tournament in Zaragoza during Holy Week, finishing runners-up for the first time. Along the way, we defeated tough opponents, including the Spanish U-15 team, which has used this tournament to strengthen its competitive edge within the group.
The U-22 Bronze team had a day to remember in the start of the league Round of 16, against Eurocolegio Casvi at the Javi Limones Stadium (71-60), snatching victory from the league leader. Congratulations to Miggy Álvarez and his crew! The squad will try to clinch this series on May 11th at 12:00 PM, as visitors, and advance to the Quarterfinals.
The U-22 Silver team began the Round of 16 on April 27th, against Uros de Rivas B (54-59) at the Javi Limones Stadium with an unexpected defeat. We hope to recover and even this tie when the team travels to this opponent rival arena on May 11th to try to equalize this tie. The game will be at 5:00 PM.
The U-22 Gold team began their FBM Playoff journey in the Round of 16 with a win on April 13, and then a loss on April 23 at the Cuatro Torres Arena (82-66). The series will be decided on May 11, against I.E. University at the Javi Limones Stadium at 7:30 PM.
In the Second Autonomous Division, Torrejón Spartans missed out this time (58-53) on April 27, against Recuerdo S.A.D. at their arena. We are battling for the 17th-20th places in the competition. We will meet again at 5:45 PM at the Nuria Fernández Stadium on May 11. The opponent? San Viator.
And to finish #LaCrónica, the TBS National Senior team rose to prominence as only the Colo Zuttion Senior team knows how, coming from behind in the VIPS Round of 16 against Baloncesto Atocha La Hipoteca de Tu Vida, getting revenge on April 26 (71-89) at the Pepe Domaica stadium, and then in the third game the following day, finishing off the series at the Javi Limones stadium in front of a great crowd that filled the arena (87-64). We secured our place in the VIPS Quarterfinals where A.D.C Boadilla awaits. The first game of this series will be on May 10 at 7:30 PM at the Javi Limones stadium. We will be back with the TBS Ultras to make our home a living hell.
