Party in the Limones and Cadete A wins

We have had a unique day this weekend - long weekend with a holiday included - where the FBM has given a rest date to almost all the Madrid categories, except for some pending matches. This issue of #LaCronica then reviewing a single game is a short one, although memorable. Why? Because all the triumphs against ACB farm teams must be celebrated.

Spectacular setting that we live in the Javi Limones, practically with an ideal capacity and close to full to support the push of Cadet A. Visiting us was Fuenlabrada A, hurt and eager for revenge after losing to us in El Arroyo with a basket in the absence of three seconds (77-78) that complicates their chances of advancing to the Gold Group.

Those led by coach Agustín Sánchez came out like a whirlwind, with our home crowd serving us as gasoline, nearly at full capacity. Amadou Maiga and Salif Diarra, our two big men, laid the foundations early in the first quarter with baskets to gain advantage as well as a good team defense overall. Ignacio Aparicio, who had a great game in the first game of this matchup against those from the south of Madrid, came in as part of the starting five as prize and left a good contribution. The protagonist from the bench was Izan Moya, with good penetrations to the rim and also a triple that made the tribune vibrate.

An artillery of triples missed by the rival, who anyways kept firing to try to counteract the 33-20 partial, suddenly began to enter and shorten those distances. Salif Diarra escaped alone to the rim after a steal, and with a spectacular dunk, he almost collapsed the basket. The good timing of Nathan Fernández in the second half, and key points of Leonardo Atencio including a triple from the corner that buried all the spirit the Fuenlabreños had. 85-70 the final score, and with such positive feelings that we could have taken +25 from the get-go.

Hats off to our audience during the game, our hearts and lungs with the drums and songs. They were instrumental in this team win. TBS now climbs to a 6-2 record, escorting Real Madrid who are undefeated. Next December 11, a key date once again before our closest persecutor, Spanish Basketball Academy. We will be the visiting team, and play at 9:30 AM.
