Iván Aurrecoechea comes back to Iceland for more
The Sheriff will continue to wreak havoc in Iceland. Iván Aurrecoechea becomes a new player of the UMFG Grindavík of the Icelandic Dominos League for the next season, after signing his contractual relationship.
Iván comes from making his professional debut, after a spectacular college career in the United States graduating from New Mexico State, at the Icelandic Thor AK, where he reached the playoffs and was one of the best front court in the league. Aurrecoechea averaged 20.0 points per game, among the top-10 of the competition, in addition to capturing 11.5 rebounds per game, a mark that made him the second best rebounder in the Icelandic league.
The 2.03m tall torrejonero is Grindavíks second foreign reinforcement after the American import Malik Benlevi. His new team made it to the quarter-finals in the 2020-2021 competition, nowadays assembling what appears to be an aspiring squad to be at the forefront of the standings.
Congratulations and success, Ivan!
