U-18 dominates and has another appointment with history

The playoffs have begun for some TBS categories, and we at #LaCronica are here to tell you all about it:

Here is the recap for Torrejón Basketball Academy on the FBM basketball courts, both away games and home games at the Javi Limones and Nuria Fernández courts on March 20, 21, and 22, as well as a preview of the next FBM round on the 27th, 28th, and 29th of the month:


The Girls Second Year Benjamin team is not wasting any time, adding another consecutive victory to maintain their league lead, defeating Villanueva de la Cañada (60-10). They now have a 13-1 record and are hopeful for what is to come.

The Boys First Year Alevín team Blanco, played at home and secured a victory in a fantastic game against Movistar Estudiantes Filipovic (64-57), with both teams tied for second place at 11-4. This is their twelfth win of the season. Congratulations to Adrián López and his boys for this fantastic victory! We continue to chase the undefeated C.B. Zona Press.


The U12 Girls First Year team has strung together good performances and wins, this time against Buen Consejo (30-33) on March 21st, away from home. Buen Consejo is a direct rival for a podium finish in the regular season. We improved our record to 7-6, surpassing our previous record, and moved into fourth place in the league.

The U12 Blue team has tightened up and secured their fifth win of the year (69-23) against Baloncesto Villalba B. This moves us up to seventh place in the standings. We have an away game this March 21st against Colegio Los Sauces at 10:30 AM.

The U12 Girls Second Year team bounced back from their previous defeat with a resounding 71-46 victory against Menesiano Azul on March 21st at the Javi Limones gym. We have stabilized in third place in the standings with a 12-6 record.


The Under-12 Second Year team continues to lead the league with a 17-1 record. This past March 21st, we traveled to Severo Torrejón (18-70) and won without incident. Aravaca Basket C.D.E. is chasing us in second place with one less win.

The Under-14 Girls First Year team remains unstoppable and top of the league, this time defeating Brains Arturo Soria (67-17). This brings our record to 17-1. The girls, coached by Osvaldo Deocares and Álvaro Pacheco, our young coaches, have been outstanding.

The Under-14 Girls Preferente team had another great game and kept their winning streak going. This time, we beat Femenino Fuenlabrada Blanco (39-19) and remain close to the top of the standings, just one win away with our impressive 14-2 record in the competition. We will play this April 11th at the Javi Limones arena against Aravaca Basket C.D.E.

The Boys First Year U14 team bounced back and secured their seventh win (71-20) against Juan de Austria at the Nuria Fernández arena. We climbed to eighth place in the standings, tied with Fundal Alcobendas D.

The Boys First Year U14 Blanco team could not manage a win at home against Colegio Alameda de Osuna (10-61), being defeated at the Nuria Fernández arena by a top-ranked opponent.

The U14 Preferente A team improved to 19-1 after winning away (16-66) against Revolution at their home arena. We continue to share the top spot with Juan de Austria A, and we will not let this opportunity slip away. We play this April 11th against Arganzuela Centro Blanco at the Javi Limones arena; the time is yet to be determined.

The U14 B team lost on the road against Baloncesto Aristos C, the current league leaders (95-47). We are currently in ninth place with a 4-12 record. We are heading to Madrid on April 11th to play Colegio Claret Madrid at 11:00 AM.

The Under-14 A team topped the Bronze Division with a 10-0 record, winning the game against Basket Aranjuez Blanco (72-74) on March 22nd in a nail-biting finish. We did it, team! Congratulations to the boys and to David Sanz Jr.

The Women Cadet Preferente team could not overcome Policlínica Madrid Parla Básquet on the road (54-24), who are currently leading the competition with an impressive 19-0 record. We are in third place with a 12-7 record. The Tomás Morales-led team will regroup after this learning experience on Saturday. We will play Majadahonda on April 11th at the Javi Limones arena at a time to be determined.

The First Year Cadet team had another good day, winning against Arganzuela Centro (56-53) and adding another notable weekend to their tally. We are in the middle of the table with a 10-11 record, and this victory against a top-ranked opponent is excellent! We will play Marianistas Amoros on April 11th at their arena at a time to be determined.

The White Cadet team could not overcome Movistar Estudiantes on the road on March 21st (50-38), and we lost. We are at the bottom of the standings in this regular season, with our eighteenth loss. We are heading into our next game on April 11th against C.B. Getafe A at the Javi Limones arena, with the time to be determined.

The Cadete B team finally had the chance to play at home this time against Valcude Alcobendas (64-54), winning the game. This is our second victory of the season, although we are currently in last place for this part of the season.

The Cadete A team secured their fifth win of the Bronze phase, defeating C.D.I. Rozasbasket 72-76 on the road, and Souleymane Sy made a great debut in the category. It is a good recovery so far this season, bringing our record to 5-5.

The Junior Preferente Azul team and their winning streak came to an end (33-77) against San Blas Basket at the Nuria Fernández arena. This opponent is second in the league with an 18-2 record, while we are currently fourth with a 13-7 record.

Junior Preferente won against Basket Aranjuez B away (52-85), and we remain in second place in the competition, now with an 18-4 record and three wins behind the leader.

Junior B won to finish the regular season. We will play Baloncesto Fuenlabrada B at home on April 12th at the Javi Limones arena for a chance to secure 28th through 36th place in the Madrid standings.

Junior A has a perfect 10-0 record in the regular season, and the Round of 16 was no exception last weekend. We have made it to the Playoffs. Two for two, against Pablo Laso Academy A., first winning decisively (95-53) in front of a packed house at the Javi Limones arena, and then repeating the feat at their home arena (67-90). On to the FBM Gold Quarterfinals! The Colo Zuttion-led team has been drawn against Real Madrid A, with the first match taking place on March 27th at the Ciudad Deportiva in Valdebebas.


The Under-22 B team saw their winning streak snapped against Valcude Alcobendas (62-66), the second-placed team in the standings, despite a great performance from the Nacho Gallego-led squad. We are currently in fourth place with a 13-7 record, while our opponent improved to 17-3. We will see them again on March 29th at the Nuria Fernández arena, as we host Arroyomolinos C.B. at 4:00 PM.

The Under-22 Gold team is unbeatable, and we are currently 20-0, having defeated C.B. Moratalaz on March 22nd. This team is generating a lot of buzz, and Gregorio Recio is the TBS Coach of the Week. We will be playing Distrito Olímpico, the bottom-ranked team, at the Javi Limones arena on March 29th. The game will tip off bright and early at 9:30 AM.

Torrejón Spartans won again and now boast a 17-3 record, defeating Valcude Alcobendas at their home arena on March 22nd (57-90). We remain second in the standings, with Tomás Morales and his team chasing El Valle C.D. And yes, on March 29th, we have the most anticipated match: we will be facing the league leaders at the Nuria Fernández arena at 5:45 PM.

And to finish #TheChronicle, the TBS National Senior team suffered another painful and close defeat against San Viator at Pepe Domaica (72-69) last Saturday, despite Rubén Escanciano having another 30+ points in another inspired performance from beyond the arc. They sit in third place in the standings with a 13-9 record, and that is how we will approach the VIPS Playoffs on April 11th, when we face Valcude Alcobendas. This game is at 7:30 PM at Javi Limones.
