
We make it to the high-end towards the FBM Playoffs
Another new edition of #LaCronica is here with the week for Torrejón Basketball Academy, following the March 15th and 16th matches in our categories, as well as warming up the buildup to the upcoming round, including FBM Play-In and regular-round matches in the playoffs:
The First-Year Girls Benjamin were defeated by Uros de Rivas (50-0), a very tough opponent in this competition. We will be back in the fight this March 22nd at Javi Limones, against Baloncesto Rivas Sureste at 12:30 p.m.
The Second-Year Girls Benjamin put in a very decent performance (50-34) despite losing to Colegio Valdeluz. We are sixth in the standings with a 4-10 record.
The First-Year Boys Alevin fell to the leagues second-place team (79-47), Alcorcón C.B 2014, at their home arena. We will play next on March 22nd at the Javi Limones Stadium at 2:15 PM against our rival, A.D.C. Boadilla.
The First-Year Girls Alevin remain unbeaten, and what a way to extend their unbeaten record (54-3) against the Fuenlabrada Girls Team. A 15-0 record for the José Gismero-led top girls. We will now face our next challenge on March 22nd, when we face Fuentelarreyna at 11:15 AM as visitors.
The Second-Year Boys Alevin lost at home (60-84) to Ensanche de Vallecas B. We will play next on March 15th at the Javi Limones Stadium at 12:30 PM against Santa Gema. On March 22nd, we will play Valcude Alcobendas, a direct rival we are chasing in the standings, as visitors at 2:10 PM.
The Torrejón Boys Second-Year Alevin team has now defeated Menesiano (48-66) at their home arena. We continue to lead the record with a 17-1 record. We are also celebrating the selection of our Max Maxt to the Community of Madrid Under-12 team for the Nationals Championship to be held next month in San Fernando, Cádiz. Congratulations, Max! Another Torrejonero becomes a member of the Madrid top team. We are facing Movistar Estudiantes Garino on March 22, at 2:15 PM at the Javi Limones Stadium.
The Second-Year Girls Infantil team has scored another victory (55-4) against Perales F at home. Highlights are available on our social channels. The Nerea Sánchez-led team returns to the court on March 22nd against Valcude Alcobendas, at 10:45 AM at their home arena.
The First-Year Girls Infantil team has improved its record to 8-6 after defeating Buen Consejo (28-33) at their home arena. We are in fourth place, just one win away from this rival to move into the top spots in the league. We are playing this March 22nd at 9:00 AM at the Javi Limones stadium against C.B Zona Press.
The U14 Preferente Femenino team won at the Javi Limones stadium against Femenino Fuenlabrada Azul (45-23) and have a 12-6 record in the standings. We are playing this March 22nd at 2:15 PM against Movistar Estudiantes B.
The U14 Preferente Femenino team has undoubtedly had an elite season, with 16 wins in a row after their last win on March 15th (26-77) against Maristas Chamberí at their home arena. We will be playing this March 22nd at 12:30 PM at the Nuria Fernández stadium and will host Club Europeo Baloncesto.
The U14 Preferente Azul team fell 40-19 to C.D Norte at La Masó. We are back on the field again on March 22nd, at 9:00 AM at the Nuria Fernández Stadium. The opponent? Alameda de Osuna Blanco.
U14 B has been surprised and lost for the first time all season (67-57) to Colegio Estudiantes Las Tablas B, at their home arena. We remain at the top, but now at 17-1. We are back on the court next on March 30, at 4:00 PM at the Nuria Fernández Stadium against Valdefuentes B.F. Azul.
U14 A continues to do its homework and has won again to create chaos in the standings (60-55), defeating Baloncesto Aristos on March 16 at the Javi Limones Stadium. Now, we force a three-way tie for second place with this opponent and Arroyomolinos, both with 6-4 records. We are playing for 37th to 48th place in the league this March 30th, at 1:30 PM in San Blas against Distrito Olímpico B.
The Cadet Preferente Femenino team lost its winning streak to the second-place team (47-41), the girls from C.B Ciudad de Móstoles at home. We are in fourth place, with a 12-6 record. Our next challenge is coming up this March 22nd at 10:45 AM at Javi Limones Stadium: Baloncesto Alcalá A.
Cadete 2010 Blanco fell to Fénix Básquet Club at its I.E.S Isabel La Católica arena (51-23). Our record for the current FBM season is 3-15. We will be heading to the Nuria Fernández Stadium on March 22nd to try to break out of this slump, when we face C.B Las Rozas D at 10:45 AM.
Cadete Primero Año battled for the second straight game against one of the favorites (45-67), but it was not enough to defeat Baloncesto Alcalá. We will have a weekend off for the next round.
Cadete Preferente (Preferred Cadet) competed (35-61) but were unable to defeat Basket Aranjuez Blanco on March 15th at the Nuria Fernández Stadium. This March 22nd, we will be heading to the Cabrini School arena at 8:30 PM to face Cabrini A.P.A Verde.
The Cadet B team deserves applause, having almost achieved their first win of the phase (67-66) against Baloncesto Leganés at the Carlos Sastre Stadium. Having been eliminated, they have to wait a month until April 27th to return to the Javi Limones Stadium and face Pablo Laso Academy B, for the 37th to 48th place in the league.
The Cadet A team played another good game at La Caja Mágica on March 16th (89-72) against the undefeated Movistar Estudiantes A team. Despite the loss, the division moves into fourth place in the phase and secures a spot in this weekend Play-In. Baloncesto Alcobendas A team will be their opponent at the Pedro Ferrandiz Stadium at 6:30 PM on March 22nd.
The Júnior Preferente Azul team lost (66-43) to Movistar Estudiantes F on March 15th at La Caja Mágica. We now have a 3-3 record. We will play Bigmat Fuenlabrada on March 22nd at 3:00 PM.
Júnior Preferente Blanco has returned to winning ways, and what a performance they have achieved at the Nuria Fernández Stadium against C.B. Pozuelo (86-53), getting a much-needed result. This March 22nd, we will play at 8:00 PM against C.B. Moratalaz A at their home arena.
Júnior B played a tremendous game at the C.D. Estudio stadium (65-66) and beat them in the final. Their second win in this phase, and one that counts for a lot. We will play C.B. Coslada on April 6th at El Plantío, at a time yet to be determined, for the 37th to 48th place in the league.
Júnior A continues to grow throughout the competition (85-35), defeating Baloncesto Alcalá on March 16th at the Javi Limones Stadium. This March 23rd, we will play the Play-In against Pablo Laso Academy A at 4:00 PM at Javi Limones Stadium.
The U-22 Bronze team had another great game, and they are continuing their streak: we triumphed (88-62) against Agustiniano on March 16th, with Dorian Vázquez shining with 22 points, followed by Josh Ples with 12. Highlights on our social channels. We are away to Astrobasket Valdemoro on March 23rd at 12:15 PM.
The U-22 Silver team had the game of the year at Javi Limones Stadium, against Mirasur School (53-52), beating the leader in agonizing fashion. Admirable work by the boys, and by Tomás Morales, replacing our coach Nacho Gallego, who was serving a suspension. A collective effort we enjoyed like few others, and you can relive images on our social channels. Mirasur remains in the lead, now at 17-1, followed by our team, which puts its foot on the pedal with a 14-3 victory. We face Liceo Sorolla on the road this March 23 at 10:30 a.m.
The U-22 Gold team continues to push hard, achieving it again (59-72) against C.B Las Rozas A, at their home arena. We remain second, just one win behind the leader. It is time to return to the court, to continue winning and dreaming this March 23 at 7:30 p.m: Revolution, the opponent we host at the Javi Limones Stadium.
In the Second Division, Torrejón Spartans fell just short of matching the score (58-71) against Colmenar Viejo at the Nuria Fernández Stadium. Our rival is ahead of us in the standings, and we are 9-10 behind. We have the Dental Ciempobasket match this March 23rd at 5:45 PM at Javi Limones Stadium.
And to finish #LaCrónica, the TBS Senior National team has finally recovered and broken its 77-85 losing spell after defeating Pintobasket. Rubén Escanciano and Marcos Hermosilla are the leaders. We are tied for the top spot in the VIPS League at 14-7 with C.D. Estudio. The final match of the regular season will be better, impossible. We will finish against Pau Monroig-led C.D. Estudio in Aravaca on March 23rd at 7:00 PM in a bid to take the lead. The winner advances as the VIPS regular season leader. We can repeat what happened last season, so... Come on!
