Pedrinho Rodrigues will play the FIBA U-15 South American Championships
Pedro Rodrigues has been named as one of the three point guards of the Brazilian under-15 team, for the South American Championships of the category to be played from today November 16th to 20th, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Whenever the Torrejoneros play in their respective national teams, it is a vote of confidence in the formative path that we promote at our Joaquín Blume facilities and also, the sacrifice that these kids make to work on their talents.
Pedrinho, from Liga Sorocabana in his native Brazil, is already in his second year with Cadete A, establishing himself as one of the leaders of the squad. In addition, he is seeing minutes in the Junior category to continue pushing his development as a player. He stands out for his intelligence on the court, and his accurate aim in the three-point shot. His father - and also a great friend of this institution -, Rinaldo Rodrigues, is the president of LSB, the rising Brazilian basketball project that has just recently played in the FIBA South American League. The team was one game away from being promoted to the NBB this past season, and thus play the first professional division of Brazilian basketball, which we know well thanks to another dear friend of the house, Gegê Chaia.
Brazil comes from being the last champion in this category, when in 2018 they beat Uruguay in the final of the event in Montevideo, with Felipe Motta being the MVP of the event. In addition, we will be present at the tournament as our Director, David Sánz, has made the trip to see the new generations of South American talent.
