Lucía Hernández: "I consider myself an intense player, a fighter and with personality"

Prensa TBS -

, Cadete

Yes, we are back. After a nice, calm summer, we return to activity this September and of course we are back with the orange ball. Our press department was able to talk with Lucía Hernández, one of our TBS girls, about her life, the club and different topics of interest:

Where does Lucia history with basketball begin?

My history with basketball started when I was little because my mother was a player when she was young and played in the second national league, instilled in me the spirit of basketball.

Have you been a player at Torrejón Basketball Academy for how long? For those who do not know you or have not seen you play on the court, how would you describe yourself as a player? Shortcomings, virtues?

I have been playing at Torrejón Basketball Academy for five years. I consider myself an intense player, a fighter and with character. Among the aspects to improve I would highlight the defense.

Lucia, what do you do off the court and what hobbies do you have?

Off the court, I study, I hang out with my friends, etc.

What does Torrejón, the city, and the club mean to you?

I have been living in Torrejón de Ardoz since I was born, so for me, it is my city. Regarding the club, I feel part of it since it is the only one I have been since I started playing.

Do you have any future goals in basketball?

My goals at this time are to continue improving and growing as a player and to continue enjoying basketball with my teammates.

Your cadete squad competes and stands against more worked rivals. Irene, Andrea, Noelia and you among the individual high points; How do you analyze this season that passed, and what do you think is necessary to improve the female branch?

This season has been very difficult due to the pandemic, but despite the circumstances we have continued to improve. I believe that womens basketball must be promoted much more in all categories to try to equate it to the mens level.

It has certainly been a pretty tough 2020 and 2021, with a global situation that to a greater or lesser extent affected a large part of humanity. How have they handled it at home, and you personally? Also tell us about the creativity you had to have to train during a pandemic, confined within the house ...

It has really been a rare time in which we have been adapting according to the circumstances, for example with physical training online at the beginning and then training and playing with a mask; always following the necessary sanitary measures.

Academically, what is the focus? What do you want to study at university and why?

My intention is to study teaching at the university to be able to be a physical education teacher, in a primary school, because it combines sports with young children.

A tip to the new generations of Torrejón players:

I encourage you to practice basketball as it is a team sport that helps you both physically and mentally.
