Torrejoneros set on new pro basketball paths
Several torrejoneros already know where they will play in the upcoming season, after this busy summer off-season. Movements are being seen in different leagues for some of our players that developed at the Javi Limones.
We begin our round-up with Santiago Yusta, who changes his context and remains in the ACB by signing with Casademont Zaragoza. The Aragonese team and the forward (24 years, 2.00m) from Torrejón de Ardoz have reached an agreement in which the Spanish international will be a member of Casademont Zaragoza for the next two seasons. Yusta became the first incorporation of the team for the 2021-2022 season.
The new rojillo player already has an impressive record, as he already knows what it is to be champion of the Euroleague in 2018. In addition, he lifted the Endesa League titles in 2018 and 2019. Yusta has been included in the Best Young Squad of the ACB competition twice, and comes from Iberostar Tenerife, with whom he has competed in the last two seasons both in the domestic competition and in the FIBA Basketball Champions League. International with the lower categories of the Spanish team, the brand new forward of Casademont Zaragoza trained at Torrejón Basketball Academy and later in the ranks of Real Madrid already treasures a wide range of experience and titles in the training stage: since the achievement of the BAM Tournament with the U14 in 2011 to the gold medals in the European U16 and U20 in Ukraine and Finland, respectively, through their participation in the Munidal U17 in Dubai and in the European U18 in Greece. That journey culminated in July 2018 with his debut with the senior team in the match against Belarus, corresponding to the FIBA qualification window for the 2019 World Cup. Yusta would repeat the call in September with two new caps and later expand his experience with him. national team with two new matches, this time qualifying for EuroBasket 2022, and the last of them, precisely, in the Príncipe Felipe pavilion.
Moussa Diagne will continue at MoraBanc Andorra. The Senegalese pivot and the Andorran team have agreed to renew the lion for one more season, a campaign that will be the fifth in the Principality since his arrival in 2017.
Since March 7 last year, incredibly, Diagne has only been able to play one game with the ACB team of Andorra. The ordeal of injuries has kept him off the slopes for 8 months, before returning to play on November 19 at the EuroCup. However, new discomfort stopped him and in January a herniated disc was detected that made him undergo surgery. We wish the owner of the hammers the best of luck and may he continue to fly down the ACB courts.
The Senegalese Pape Badji, developed in Torrejón, will remain in Belgium as he decided on his professional path for the next season. The experienced FIBA center with his country on the route to AfroBasket FIBA signed with Brussels Basket, for a one-season deal. The center comes off a great year with Okapi Aalst also in the Belgian league, where he averaged 9.7 points per game in an outstanding 63% from the field, with 6.7 rebounds captured in 27 games, with the team that finished in fourth position .
