The TECMOON Torrejón comes out strong at the Javi Limones pavilion
We had to go out with the knife between our teeth and that is how it was. A "final" was played on Saturday afternoon, which, it was not a championship final as such, it is indeed a final because there are only finals remaining for TECMOON Torrejón Basket on this path towards the dream of EBA promotion.
Down 0-1, one more victory for CB Getafe would certify their berth to the Final Four and our National Senior with a display of intensity has been able to reverse this scenario to force the third and decisive match in this quarter-final bracket of the FBM.A strong defense set the tone for the match, and to emphasize this, the rival was stopped at 24 points at the end of the second quarter.
The advantage that had been achieved towards the break was lost in a very gray third quarter, where the shots did not fall. We were only able to score 6 points and that gave Getafe some life. A courageous performance by top prospect Malique Lewis, leading scorer with 16 points, and a very serious work by the ever-consistent captain Roberto Donaire (9 points) have been a big factors in the win. Also, the contribution of local formative Senegalese big man Gastón Diedhou, a product of our Torrejón Basketball Academy, has brought security in the paint and guarantees for what is next. This is not the end. We are alive.
The next final game of the Senior will be on May 29 at the Felipe Reyes Pavilion in Getafe, with a scheduled time for 19:30. Another final that we must play, and to which we are stoked with the best feelings.
